Free Economic Zone
Kaunas airport territory borders with the Kaunas Free Economic Zone (FEZ). The zone is located on a 534 hectares site with a legal tax incentives and favourable business environment for private investors*:

0% corporate tax during the first six years;

50% of Lithuanian corporate tax (20%) over the next ten years, i.e. effective tax rate of 10 %;

no custom duties (free territory status);

no VAT or excise taxes (free territory status);

no real estate taxes.
* - an investment of at least 1 million Euros is required
There are opportunities for airlines to develop training and maintenance support bases in the Kaunas FEZ connecting the opportunity of aircraft maintenance base establishment in Kaunas airport territory.
As Kaunas embarks on the next stage of its Masterplan development, this is a good time for airlines to consider investing in operations in the Kaunas FEZ and at Kaunas airport.
